Alewijnse Retec Romania together with Alewijnse Marine Systems consolidate their position in dredging market

Alewijnse Retec Romania puts once again its professionalism and flexibility in force with the occasion of a new shared experience together with Alewijnse Marine Systems – the recently signed contract (on 23rd of March 2011) for two Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD) which will consist of lighting, installing, steelwork, and commissioning package. The sister vessels will be built by IHC Merwede in one of its shipyards located in Netherlands for the Indian dredging company DCI, each of them having the capacity of 5.500 cubic meters. The first vessel of the two is to be delivered in July 2012 while the second is scheduled to be handed over six months later in December 2012.

As part of its “reliable partner” policy, Alewijnse Retec Romania combines performances with Alewijnse Marine Systems around this significant order meant as an important milestone within the strategy for strengthening the position in Dredging sector. Alewijnse Marine Systems will be responsible for Control and Navigation & Communication. Engineering will be performed on site, at Kinderdijk customer’ offices to ensure an optimal integration of Alewijnse staff within the Project Team (Client / Shipyard) and for a most accurate compatibility / cooperation starting even from design stage.

Alewijnse and the dredging sector

Alewijnse team of dedicated experts has lead in a short period of time to its recognition as a trusted and professional partner for the Dredging industry. Up to this date, Alewijnse Marine Systems has won contracts for 13 dredging vessels, both new builds and refits. The company offers complete electrical installation packages to operators in the sector, including systems for alarm, monitoring and control, power management, navigation, communications, and propulsion. All systems contracted from Alewijnse are engineered, installed and commissioned by dedicated Alewijnse personnel, ensuring that they are delivered fit-for-purpose and in fulfillment of each client's specific electrical and automation requirements.
